Born In Bangladesh

A friend of mine, Chantal Anderson, is a seriously gifted photojournalist that has had opportunities to do pieces around the globe.  Right now she is being submitted for the Community Choice Awards with the International Museum of Women.  If her piece wins she will get to send $500 back to the Bollophur Hospital in Bangladesh, which would be so special for her.  If you get a moment go to: http://mama.imow.org/vote and vote for Born In Bangladesh!

Here is the link to the Photo Essay: http://mama.imow.org/yourvoices/born-bangladesh

Love You Chantal!

crêpes aux fruits

Yesterday morning I woke up with a throbbing headache and a surprise day off of work.  I tried to lay back down but my head just wasn’t having it – so I decided to go to the grocery store [while Jeremy was still sleeping] and get some ingredients for crepes.  Of course I didn’t feel like putting on a whole outfit so I just threw on my sweats and left.  I found all of my ingredients and while I was waiting in line for the cashier I noticed my high school US history teacher standing behind me.  I could have been mortified at my appearance but instead I decided to say “Hello” to him and he remembered me.  I came back home to find Jeremy still sleeping – so I started on my adventure.  I have never made crepes before so I was nervous I was definitely going to mess it up.  Big surprise – I actually rock at making crepes!  I even flipped a few without a spatula 🙂  I was so proud of myself.

I would have taken a picture to post but my camera died a few months back, peacefully in his sleep.  All in all it was a wonderful day.  Jeremy loved his surprise breakfast and he took care of me and my bizarre headache the rest of the day – doing the dishes, making me lunch – it was a good day 🙂

And so the journey begins

Almost 3 months ago I married my best friend.  We started this journey not knowing what was to come next. We have been through a turbulent storm but have found joy and love inside of it.  I cannot imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else, facing this storm called life with anyone else.

This beautiful tangle that’s bruising us blue
Is the beautiful knot that we just can’t undo
Together we’re one but apart tell me
Who are we fooling?

‘Cause real love is hard love
It’s all we have
It’s a break neck
Train wreck
It’s all we have

So we’re back here again
Turning away from the edge of the end
Arm in arm
